Charles Higueras, FAIA, is a distinguished architect and public servant with over four decades of impactful contributions to San Francisco and beyond. Retiring as the Director of the Project Management Bureau at San Francisco’s Public Works Department, he managed the City’s seismic improvements and led the Justice Facilities Improvement Program. His leadership extended to chairing the San Francisco Public Library Commission, overseeing 24 significant library projects, and serving as Chair of the Board for the Center for Architecture + Design. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects since 2010, Charles continues to influence the built environment and civic life through his ongoing service on various boards. His career is a testament to the power of architecture and public service in enhancing communities.
